R&D Engineer

Jungles and deserts, oil platforms and ocean going vessels – even submarines are no challenge for Hidex instruments. With our customers we improve research of medicine, safety of nuclear industry, sustainability of the environment and purity of our food and water supplies. 

Now we are looking to strengthen our R&D team in Turku with an R&D Engineer  

We run multiple R&D projects simultaneously, a mix between large new instrument development projects and smaller product improvement projects. As an R&D Engineer, you will support projects from project planning phase to execution and follow up. Your main tasks include product testing & verification and coordination of smaller product improvement / research projects. You don’t have to do this all by yourself, there is a strong project team always providing support to you. We are ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified, which means that we have pretty good guidelines on how the processes are to be realized. At the same time, we know that there are always ways to do things smarter, and we are looking for a person with appetite to actively contribute to continuous improvement.  

✅  Desired background and qualities: 

• Degree in engineering or natural sciences 
• Experience in working for product development projects, preferably in mech design and/or SW development environment 
• Working experience in laboratory environment and/or with analytical measurement instruments is considered a plus 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset 
• Excellent cooperation skills 
• Continuous improvement mindset 
• Possibility to travel  
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English
